I chose to participate in the BURP/MURP Advanced Standing program without hesitation because this was the most appropriate educational foundation to delve into land use, zoning, and the public regulatory approach to city growth. Learning the urban planner’s perspective has provided an understanding of how my future relationships with municipalities, community stakeholders, and other industry professionals will operate. Knowing the public planning process will be vital to implementing private property improvement visions.
